Beer vs. Wine Dinner
It's a well known fact that wine pairs well with food. Craft beer, however, is on the rise as a foodie's favorite to sit side by side with their feast. At this tasting, The Barrel Room is going head to head with Urge American Gastropub, and you get to be the judge. TBR will pair wine, and Urge will pair beer with five special courses created by Head Chef Marc Liautard so that you can decide, once and for all, which beverage belongs. Course 1: Chévre Grillotine Toasted French baguette, chévre goat cheese, sweet onion marmalade and chives Course 2: Surf and Farm Locally grown hass avocado, shrimp and crab salad Course 3: Petrale Sole Meuniére Lemon brown butter, soaked currant rice and green beans Course 4: Rib Eye au Bleu Rib eye medallion, caramalized shallots, gorgonzola cream, chanterelle mushrooms and scalloped potatoes Course 5: Pêche Melba Peach confit, French vanilla ice cream, cognac raspberry coulis, Tahitian vanilla chantilly
