This year will be the second annual God's Work, Our Hands Sunday for the ELCA, and St. John's is getting involved. Last year, thousands of people in churches across the ELCA joined together on this one day to let their communities know that church is more than Sunday worship. From neighborhood cleanups and work projects to visiting nursing homes or packaging food, these folks took their faith to the streets.
Our day of service will be on September 7, which will begin with one short worship service at 9:00 that will send us as a congregation into a variety of service opportunities.
Please plan on joining us for this exciting day! There will be something for everyone from projects at the church to neighborhood-based work.
Let's live God's Love in the World together with our brothers and sisters throughout the ELCA. It's going to be a blessing!
