Canuck Downunder
Canuck Downunder is based on true events.
The play follows Jess, a 22 year old from Alberta who now resides in New York City. As she comes to terms with the loss of her older brother Stephen "Canuck Downunder" Kazamel, we see how the "tweet generation" impacts on her accepting his death.
Canuck Downunder explores our presence on social media, and what remains once we die. Suddenly everything we shared; photos, status updates, & even Candy Crush invites, preserve our existence as memories for loved ones. Does this new form of communication lack emotion & personality? Is our technologically advanced world aiding us in growing healthy relationships, or are we too busy hiding behind the perfect profile picture?
