Five Minutes from Home (52 min) / Stranger in My Home Jerusalem (37 min)
Five Minutes from Home (52min) The Jerusalem Airport, along the road that links Jerusalem to Ramallah, has been occupied by the Israeli army since 1967. Today, a huge military checkpoint blocks the road, a dead end street. Nahed Awwad discovers that this sad spot used to be a place where international aircraft landed in the 1950s and 60s, when Palestinians traveled freely. The director goes to meet this place, evoking the past in order to have a better apprehension of the present.
Stranger in My Home Jerusalem (37 min) Based on oral history, this film relates the stories of eight Palestinian Jerusalemite families that have been turned into refugees in their own city. Each family goes to see its house which was occupied in 1948, and speak with the current Israeli tenants.
