Orton Park Neighborhood Walking Tour
Join Madison Trust for Historic Preservation docents on a tour of landmark buildings in the Third Lake Ridge neighborhood surrounding Orton Park.
We will have tours leaving every 30-minutes throughout the afternoon. Each 2-hour tour includes the interiors of three historic homes and one garden. You will see homes that represent all the styles common in Madison in its first 100 years.
Did you know that the neighborhood around Orton Park was included in James Duane Doty's original 1836 plat of the Isthmus of Madison, and Orton Park itself was originally the village cemetery?
