Polaroid Stories
HomeGrown Theatre begins its 2014-15 season this September with Polaroid Stories by Niaomi Iizuku. Iizuku's 1997 deconstruction of Ovid's Metamorphoses sets the historic cannon of Greek Mythology in the streets of the present day urban United States and fills the roles of gods and goddesses with a cast of disenfranchised street dwellers and travelers. Polaroid Stories confronts these tales of morality with nontraditional definitions of love, change and control through the hard hitting language and action of 20th century street life and social decay. Woodland Empire graciously hosts this production in their Brew House. The tasting room is open prior to the performance.
Directed by Kyle Daniel Barrow and Sarah A. Gardner. Ensemble featuring Jaime Nebeker, Jen Stockwell Doner, Loren Jones, Veronica Von Tobel, Leah Reynolds, Jeremiah Robert Wieranga, Kelly Lynae Robinson, Chad Ethan Shohet, Adrian Leon, and Kyle Daniel Barrow.
