Lucille longs to go to college and study poetry, but her widower father, a peculiar and domineering plastic surgeon, insists she lead a life of science. Feeling trapped and desperate, Lucille turns to suicide. She survives, but her face is left badly burned. Wanting to keep her at home in their strange mansion, Lucilles father begins work on an ethically questionable surgery to restore her face. Enter Joan, the sexy, sultry live-in nurse he hires to care for her. Lucille takes an acute interest in Joan, and their relationship quickly develops into something her conservative father would not approve of.
