Greenmarket Chef Tours & Tastes Upper West Side with Henry's
Learn first-hand how New York's best chefs create their menus from the freshest, local ingredients available at Greenmarket, and how they are working together with farmers to preserve farmland and encourage sustainable agriculture. Chef Mark Barrett and Owner Henry Rinehart of Henry's and Greenmarket staff will be your expert guides, providing a behind-the-scenes perspective on the pleasures and benefits of shopping at the market. You'll begin with a personal tour of the Columbia University Greenmarket with Chef Barrett and Henry, then you will head to Henry's and be treated to a private 3-course lunch made from the bounties of the day prepared especially for you.
The event is made possible by the extraordinary generosity of Chef Barrett and Henry Rinehart. All proceeds will benefit Greenmarket's Youth Education Project, which helps nearly 5000 New York City school children gain a better understanding of local agriculture and the importance of eating fresh, seasonal foods.
