In this hands-on workshop, the morning begins with instruction on how to resize and format your own images. In the afternoon, you'll add these images to the website that you create. You'll leave the class with the technical skills to be able to create your own customized website.
Bring your laptop loaded with your existing images, no matter what quality they are. If you don't have images, we'll provide some, but you will need to bring either a PC or Mac laptop with wireless capability to participate in the class.*
During the morning session, you'll use a 30-day free trial of Photoshop and Lightroom (don't download before the class), and we'll also review free web-based photo programs. You'll compare each program and gain the knowledge to choose the one that best suits your needs Through personalized instruction and class exercises, you'll learn how to format and save your images for a variety of purposes, including submissions to art calls, sending as attachments, printing, and the web.
In the afternoon, you'll use WordPress to create your own website that requires no initial software or hosting. You'll sign up for an account, personalize your profile and start posting content right away, including the photos you formatted in the morning session. Learn to add images and videos, create custom themes, attract viewers with social sharing, and more.
Informational handouts will be provided.
*Requirement to participate: bring your own PC or Mac computer with wireless Internet connection capability.
