For Dhaya, life including her traditional Indian upbringing, childhood in the Deep South, and thoughtful yet accessible socio-political commentary is comedy. She has performed with "Five Funny Females" & "Pundits with Punchlines" and has appeared at The Punchline, The San Jose Improv, and Gotham Comedy Club in New York. Dhaya recently performed at The South Asian Journalists Association conference in New York and has been a host, MC, and on-camera interviewer for Nirvana Woman Magazine. Loren was a finalist in the Battle of the Bay Comedy Competition in 2007 and 2009. Her style is laid-back and somewhat dark, covering such subjects as her obsessive-compulsive disorder and anorexia or writing the perfect suicide note. She can be seen throughout the Bay Area touching or counting anything that needs touching or counting most recently at The Purple Onion, The Clubhouse, Rooster T. Feathers, Harveys Funny Tuesdays, The Wharf Room, and at a coffee shop near you.
DJ REAL (Nick Stargu) began his musical career in Connecticut with the horribly named but instrumentally proficient prog-rock band Karma. Tired of performing songs that lasted over 10 minutes, Nick began writing short songs based on weird things that ranged from blankets to thievery. Inspired by a self-centered DJ at an open mic, Nick created the DJ REAL character, and decided to take his strange songs to the stage. Nick brought the DJ REAL act to San Francisco, where he has been gaining recognition in the area's eclectic music and comedy circuits. DJ REAL was most recently featured at the 08 and 09 San Francisco Sketch Festivals. His live act has been likened to the Talking Heads, The Residents, and Steve Martin. Nick is currently promoting the release of his fourth DJ REAL studio album, Personal Growth.
TOBY MURESIANU ("Mora-Shaw-New") is a rising star in the comedy scene, with a style that is sharp and intelligent but relaxed and self-deprecating. He got his start while attending college in New England, performing at local clubs and colleges and becoming a popular alternative rock radio DJ. After graduating, he appeared in Walt Disneys Underdog, worked for National Lampoon Radio and Comedy Express Television, and has most recently been touring clubs and appearing in festivals across the West Coast.
