Park Slope Homebrew Tour
Despite New York's gnat-size apartments, NYC homebrewers refuse to let space limitations detract them from their mission: crafting the city's tastiest beer. On this tour, you'll meet many of NYC's finest brewers, who will display their set-ups, discuss their craft and, most importantly, open up their stash of superlative beer.
On today's tour, we're visiting the southern edge of Park Slope. The journey will start with BrewHeister's Sam Burlingame, who will be pouring his Myrical Saison, something freshly hopped and hopefully some sour Dresdner Weiss, if it survives the summer. Next, we're heading to meet homebrewing couple Shannon Bowser and Jon Luton, who will be pouring rustic farmhouse ales, a fresh-hopped session pale ale and a Brettanomyces-drivensaison in their backyard. (It's their first time hosting, so let's give 'em a warm welcome.) Lastly, we're going to head down the road to check out the brand-new location of Brooklyn Homebrew. Think: warehouse. Loads of beer. Good times. Today is going to be excellent. And there might be surprises too!
Your guide is Complete Beer Course author Joshua M. Bernstein.
