Cultivating Restorative Systems with Dominic Barter
This session will allow practitioners in Seattle and King County to work with Dominic on challenges and opportunities for systems building and Restorative Circle practices. Bring your current issues to work with.
You will be learning about this "Restorative Circle" practice from the creator himself: Dominic Barter developed this system in Brazil in partnership with the youth and community members in the favelas (shanty towns). He has brought this powerful practice to communities, schools, court systems, and organizations around the world. www.restorativecircles.org. Restorative Circles are emerging in Seattle and surrounding communities. In the immediate aftermath of a Seattle police officer's fatal shooting of John T. Williams, a First Nations wood carver, a Restorative Circle was held between Police Chief John Diaz, top department officials, and the grieving family.
