MORE ABOUT KENNY: After 5 years coming up through Chicago's notorious comedy scene, Kenny DeForest is now a comic based in New York City. Known for combining keen, off-beat observations and insightful, satirical narratives, all filtered through his laid-back persona, DeForest has an ease about him that allows him to explore dark waters without alienating his audiences. This allows his audiences to feel comfortable going on a ride they probably didn't realize they were willing to take.
Before leaving Chicago, DeForest worked hard to make a lasting impact. He co-created the wildly popular, still-running showcase "Parlour Car" (Recently named Chicago's best showcase by Chicago Mag), became a regular performer at clubs and showcases such as The Comedy Bar, Comedians You Should Know, Lincoln Lodge, and Laugh Factory. He was also featured on the the WBEZ produced "Paper Machete" and was asked to open for Hannibal Buress at Notre Dame.
In a short time on the New York scene, Kenny is already making a name for himself by becoming a regular performer at some of the cities top clubs and showcases such as "Comedy As A Second Language", Stand Up NY, and "Comedy At The Knitting Factory with Hannibal Buress". He is also co-producer (along with Chicago ex-pats Clark Jones and Will Miles) of the reboot of Chicago staple "2 Black Dudes and a Microphone" which has quickly become one of New York's most popular independent showcases. The most important thing to know about seeing Kenny live is that his passion for stand-up shines every performance and his audiences can tell he's having a lot of fun up there. This tends to make it very easy to join him.
