The Actor's Toolkit: Acting for Adults with Robyn R. Huizinga
This fall PCT will offer a full-semester acting class for adults. The purpose of the class is to prepare new actors for auditioning and performing roles onstage, as well as refresh and stretch the technique of seasoned actors. We will begin the semester with Uta Hagen's "Object Exercises." We'll discuss character structure and development, and further explore character through monologue work. We will then explore movement through Ann Bogart's "Viewpoints," and caring for the actor's body and voice. The semester will culminate in script analysis and scene work. The course is meant to be fun, active, engaging, challenging, and will build the actor's toolkit of techniques and approaches to the art of acting.
