Event
Bill Staines in Enterprise, OR
Make plans now to see legendary folksinger/guitarist Bill Staines on Wednesday, October 15 at 7:00 pm at the Odd Fellows Hall! (107 NE 1st Street, 97828) Local musicians Heidi Muller and Bob Webb will be opening. Bill is one of those classic folk artists who reminds you of Woody Guthrie - his songs tell the stories of working people, ordinary folks from across America, and the beauty of the simple things in life. He's a spellbinding performer with 27 albums and four books to his credit, and a touring career that has spanned over 40 years, making him one of the most durable and beloved singers on the folk music scene today. He has written over three hundred songs, covered by artists like Peter, Paul, and Mary, Nanci Griffith, Glen Yarborough, and Jerry Jeff Walker. "All God's Critters Got a Place in the Choir," "Roseville Fair," and "River" are folk music classics. Composer David Amram once described Bill as "a modern day Stephen Foster. His music will be around a hundred years from now."
Tickets are $10 in advance at the Book Loft and Joseph Hardware, and are available online at www.brownpapertickets.com. Admission will be $12 at the door. Tickets are $5 for children age 12 and under. The event will be catered by Lear's Pub and Grill. Doors open at 6:00 pm.
