Season Pass : Oct 04, 2014 - April 25, 2015
First Inversion, a new vocal ensemble in Rochester, New York, brings you unique programming featuring many of Rochester's finest vocal artists, both professional and volunteer. The inaugural season opens with Rossini's delightful Petite Messe Solennelle, with chorus, soloists, two pianos, and harmonium, all joining in this playful work that Rossini lovingly called one of his "last sins of old age." In January, we will experience the depth of Joseph Rheinberger's harmonic language through his Mass in Eb Major for double choir along with heartwarming romantic part songs by Brahms, Schumann, and Elgar. The season finale will juxtapose concert settings of African-American Spirituals with folk song settings from around the world including the exuberant Chansons Françaises of Francis Poulenc.
Your purchase of a season ticket now enables us to plan ahead effectively and provide the most engaging concert experience for our community. First Inversion is founded on a fair-trade model with minimal overhead and Rochester's talented musicians in mind. 83% of your ticket purchase price will directly support the livelihood of the artists involved in bringing these concerts to life. Thank you for your grassroots support!
As a 17 year resident of Rochester, I am committed to building this community by bringing people from diverse backgrounds together to enjoy the beauty and healing power of the choral art. For this reason, in addition to our standard adult and student ticket prices, you have the option of naming your own price to attend our concerts. If it is within your means, and you believe in what we are doing, I hope you will consider becoming a founding subscriber and naming your season ticket price at $75 ($25 per concert) or more. If standard ticket prices won't fit into your budget, but you believe in the power of the choral art to build community and foster deepening connection between people, I hope you will join us. Please become a season subscriber at whatever price will work for you ($10minimum).
I can't wait to connect with each of you over the coming year with this fantastic music. It changes my life every day, and I hope its beauty will bring you great joy and inspire the best within you.
In deep gratitude for your support, LEE
Lee Wright, Founder and Artistic Director First Inversion
