Dixieland Jazz Cruise
The Greater Boston Vintage Society sets its sights to recreate the 1930's Dixieland jazz age about the riverboat Samuel Clemens! The Clemens is a reproduction riverboat that leaves for tours from the Rowes Wharf hotel area of downtown Boston. The cruise will include 3 hours out on the water with great live music provided by the Dan Gabel High Society Orchestra with vocals by Elise Roth! You will be amazed by this very talented and experienced band that has only just started to play the swing dance circuit.
A free dance lesson is included with admission at 1pm. The boat will depart the dock at 2pm and return at 5pm. But this isn't just a dance cruise!!! On the lower level, casino games will be available with prizes from wonderful sponsors! Also included in the price of admission will be appetizers and refreshments for all! And thank goodness the 21st Amendment was just recently passed, cause that allows us to have a cash drink bar! (This is a 21+ event.)
The Rowes Wharf terminal is in the central hub of public transportation and it's easy to get to by car. There are garages nearby and the event is on a Sunday which means the meters are free! Dressing up for the 30's is encouraged but not required. Should be a great time of the year for wearing vintage without getting too hot. And having it in the daytime means fun photos! See you on that lazy river!
