About REBOL:
IS A TRADITIONAL AFRO-COLOMBIAN MUSIC ENSEMBLE COMPRISED OF SOME OF THE FINEST COLOMBIAN MUSICIANS IN THE UNITED STATES. THE GROUP WAS CREATED FROM THE DESIRE OF RONALD POLO (VOCALIST/COMPOSER/GAITERO) AND MORIS CAATE (MASTER FOLKLORIC PERCUSSIONIST) TO PROMOTE THE RICH MUSICAL TRADITIONS OF THEIR ANCESTORS; THE AFRO-DESCENDENTS OF COLOMBIA'S CARIBBEAN COAST.

IT IS THEIR BELIEF THAT THESE FOLKLORIC TRADITIONS SHOULD CONTINUALLY EVOLVE OVER TIME AND WITH THE IDEAS OF NEW GENERATIONS OF FOLKLORISTS. THIS BELIEF IS REFLECTED IN THEIR MUSIC. THE ORGINAL COMPOSITIONS OF RONALD POLO FORGE NEW PATHS FOR COLOMBIAN MUSIC WHILE RESPECTFULLY REMAINING FAITHFUL TO ITS ANCESTRAL ROOTS. IN THE PROCESS, THEY CREATE TRULY UNIQUE MUSICAL AND CULTURAL EXPERIENCE.

Sounds like Africa transplanted in the New World...like the intermarriage of culture and sound between Black and Indigenous Colombia...like beautiful melodies of the Kuisi Sigi and Kuisi Bunzi (Colombian gaitas) dancing on top of thundering Afro-Colombian drums...sounds like hundreds of years of tradition being resepected and maintained, while being fused with the modern sounds of the Black Caribbean...sounds like the memories and spirits of "Batata" Salgado, "El Diablo" Tovar, and countless other heroes of Afro-Colombian history speaking to us...along with the spirits of every Black and Indigenous Colombian that fought to preserve their culture...sounds like Colombia continuing to make a name for itself on the North American and Global music scene...sounds like a really, really, REALLY fun time.
