Event
Salmon Docent Training
Time: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Salmon Docent training is for people who want to learn about salmon habitat, life cycle, and species in the Puget Sound. Ecologically, traditionally, and commercially important, salmon are iconic in our region and influence much of how we manage our waters and landscape.
In addition to the training and resources, we also provide and connect you with opportunities to volunteer in activities around Kitsap County, including working with school children on field trips to teach them about streams and salmon, and sharing your knowledge with the public at Kitsap Salmon Tours as a streamside docent.
Salmon experts Paul Dorn and Kathy Peters share their varied and extensive experience and knowledge of local issues affecting area salmon, and cover topics such as:
Salmon habitat Life cycle Species management in the Salish Sea
