An Evening with Matt Turk & The Young Fish School Global Jazz Ensemble
Matt Turk is a New York based acoustic folk troubadour, multi-instrumentalist, eternal idealist and compassionate peace loving realist. He has engaged audiences throughout the U.S.A., Europe, Israel and the Caribbean. He has been a regular at the Clearwater's Great Hudson River Revival over the years where, on occasion, he appeared on stage with his mentor and friend, Pete Seeger.
Matt's new recording, Cold Revival, is an arrestingly emotional collection of songs dealing with human relationships, loss, and the redeeming power of love. The album is scheduled for an October 2014 release.
Drummer, percussionist, composer and recording artist, Robert Arthur Fish returned to his home state of Rhode Island after pursuing a musical path on the road, including years in New York, Los Angeles and beyond and joined forces with percussionist Diana Young. The Young Fish School Global Jazz Ensemble explores the musical and rhythmic landscape of North Africa, the Middle East, West Africa, India, Asia and the Americas. For this special event his ensemble will feature four musicians and a dancer. The doors open an hour before the performance. Folks come with picnic baskets and age-appropriate beverages for the pre show "chow-down" also known as the folk tail-gate party.
