Laughin' @ The Blue Fin is the hottest new comedy showcase on the Monterey Peninsula! Located right on Cannery Row, Laughin' @ The Blue Fin brings you the funniest up & coming comics from all over the country! The Blue Fin Cafe & Billiards puts on a comedy show that will strain your cheeks every few weeks! This month's funny production features the comedy stylings of the ever-clever Matt Gubser, the wacky antics of Jamar Johnson, and as always, hosted by the Central Coast's favorite host, Cory Robinson!
MATT GUBSER
Smart. Dry. Thoughtful. Challenging. Sexy.
These are just a tiny sample of the things Matt Gubser has paid people to say about him. The man seriously has no shame.
With his mellow personality and razor sharp wit, Matt's comedy relentlessly challenges a spectrum of social conventions including politics, organized religion, issues of all shapes and sizes, and recounts the absurdities of his experiences parenting, dating and aging. Also dick jokes.
Matt has performed at clubs and comedy festivals across the western US, including SF Sketchfest, the Sacramento Comedy Festival, S.H.I.T.S. and Giggles Comedy Festival, & Santa Cruz Fringe Fest. He is part of the Ha Ha Heathens Comedy Tour and co-produces "It's Just Two Minutes," a monthly comedy show in San Francisco.
Matt is a Northern California native and currently resides in Oakland. He enjoys sculpting, buying used books he never gets around to reading, and basketball. He has three exasperating daughters. He makes them wear sunscreen and eat too many vegetables.
JAMARR JOHN JOHNSON
Jamarr John Johnson could have been anything in his second life. As former Marine and Naval officer Jamarr has touched frontiers that few others can claim. After an accomplished military career of 14 years Jamarr finally found his calling in comedy.
Jamarr has played major clubs in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and Canada. He has also performed for countless charitable events and helped to raise money for disaster relief. Jamarr is a fan favorite on military bases not only because he speaks their language and feels their pain but because he keeps it real with out going wrong. Jamarr has made recent appearances in commercials, MTV, ABC's Katie Show and NBC's Dr. OZ show. He also writes for BizCastr.tv where he hosts a fitness reality show. Stay tuned for exciting things from this focused and talented performer.
ITS UNDERGROUND COMEDY AT ITS BEST!
"Laughin' at the Blue Fin is different than other comedy nights" said host and founder Cory Robinson. "We come at it from a different angle. I'm not a club owner; I'm a comedian. So although I understand this is a business, I believe a quality product will prevail. When I'm out there on the road, I get to meet and work with amazingly talented people. Some of the best comedians are people that you've never been exposed to. I wanted to bring that talent to Monterey and create a showcase for it in my home town. That's why I started Laughin' at the Blue Fin."
And, with a string of sold out shows behind him, that formula appears to be working.
