Sac Open Studios Limo & Champagne Tour
A limo tour of Sac Open Studios' Curators' Picks for 10. Tour includes champagne at select studios, and refreshments provided by Magpie Cafe. Choose from Sunday September 14th or 21st.
This year's curators are Donna Napper and Rachel Teagle.
Donna Napper is the Curator at San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art. She has worked in the contemporary art profession for nearly twelve years including seven as owner of den contemporary, a Los Angeles gallery she opened in 2004 featuring emerging to midcareer artists that are based across the globe. Donna served on numerous committees and panels for the Los Angeles art community, among them Executive Committee Member of ArtTable, a national organization for women leaders in the visual arts, and Founding Member and Publicity Chair for the Contemporary Craft Council at the Craft and Folk Art Museum. Since moving to the Bay Area less than two years ago, she has served as juror for Djerrasi Resident Artist Program, Root Division in San Francisco, Silicon Valley Arts Council, and the Office of U.S. Representative Mike Honda.
Rachel Teagle has more than 16 years of experience as a museum director and curator focused on socially engaged art and artist-driven programming. She is currently Founding Director of the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art at UC Davis. Teagle, who earned a doctoral degree in contemporary art history from Stanford University, most recently served for five years as the executive director of The New Children's Museum in San Diego. She has held curatorial positions at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Bay Area's Anderson Collection.
