Mike Roark Benefit Concert and BBQ
Concert & BBQ to Benefit cancer victim Mike Roark and family
Headlined by international Blues artist Kelley Hunt and hosted by Mike Mahoney from channel 9, this 6 hour event will feature 5 local music groups with Blues, 50s Rock n Roll, Western Swing, Bluegrass and Jazz. BBQ dinners and beverages will be available along with a silent auction and bake sale. A second stage with acoustic solo, duets and trios will also be featured.
Mike was diagnosed with mantle cell non-Hodgkins lymphoma on Feb. 16th. There have been many tests, transfusions, hospital & doctor appointments, as well as 6 rounds of aggressive weeklong sessions of chemotherapy since that time. Mike received a bone marrow stem cell transplant at KU Medical center this past week.. As with many Americans, Mike is underinsured. His family and friends are presenting this event to help defer mounting medical bills.
