Little Red Studio Concerts presents Scott Ezell & Christopher Roberts
Join us at the Little Red Studio on Friday October 20th at 8pm for the CD release party for Scott Ezell's "Ocean Hieroglyphics", an ambient and alternative folk offering of original compositions. The concert will include folksongs, americana, and ambient instrumental pieces for solo guitar with a special appearance of composer and musicologist Christopher Roberts on double bass. For music samples go to www.scottezell.org.
"Ocean Hieroglyphics" was originally released internationally by Wind Records in 2003. This collection of twelve instrumental compositions is an expression of the color and texture of the ocean through traditional instruments from four continents, including guitar, banjo, bamboo flute, percussion, jew's harp, percussion, harmonica, and acoustic bass.
Poet and musician Scott Ezell has written and performed music for twenty years. After studying literature at the Universities of California and Washington, he spent a dozen years studying languages and culture in Asia. During these years he released albums, wrote and recorded film music, recorded as a studio musician, and made documentary recordings of tribal songs. He lived the first half of 2006 in Barcelona, collaborating with flamenco artists and playing local venues. He now lives in Seattle and is a troupe member of Little Red Studio.
Doors open at 8pm. Tickets are $10 per person. The little Red Studio is located at 1506 Franklin Ave. E. in Seattle, WA. For more information and/or reservations, please call (206) 328-4758.
