A Jazzy evening with Sachal Vasandani
In his short time in New York, Sachal has worked with Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and Wynton Marsalis, and opened for such diverse acts as Chris Botti and Joan Osbourne.He has also headlined at The Monterey Jazz Festival.
Sachal was influenced by Shirley Horn, tutored by Jon Hendrick's of the famed Lambert, Hendricks and Ross Trio, and been produced by John Clayton.
He has been acclaimed by Downbeat magazine and Nate Chinen from The New York Times has called Sachal "a jazz singer with good ideas, including some what a jazz singer can be."
We are excited to have him at Serenbe for this special performance backed by Louis Herriveaux on keyboard, Kevin Smith on bsss and Justin Varnes on drums.
