Farming 101 - Food Safety for Farmers
Join Raman Maangat, CAFF's Food Safety Program Manager to discuss the basics of Food Safety protocol on the farm.

What is food safety & what are the risks? Why is food safety important? Why do I need to implement food safety on my farm? What are some of the pathogens of concern and where on the farm can they be found? What does a food safety / GAP plan include? Raman Maangat was born and raised on a farm in British Columbia, Canada, and has been in the Bay Area for the past 3 years. She has a degree in food science from the University of British Columbia. Prior to moving here Raman had been working with the Agricultural & Food industry in BC. She has worked on a number of projects for various industry groups and the government. Raman's position at CAFF is Food Safety Manager. She is responsible for developing the food safety program at CAFF that is focused on advising California family farmers on developing farm-level food safety plans.
