Performance 1 - Shriya Srinivasan - 6:00 PM - 10/10/2009 Shriya Srinivasan performs solo Bharathanatyam dances for 45 minutes. She will be presenting the classical dance numbers such as padams, Varnams. She is the daughter of well known danceuse - Sujatha Srinivasan of Cleveland, Ohio
Performance 2 - Om Ganesha - 7:00 PM - 10/10/2009 Ganesh is the mythological God of Hindu Pantheon. He is worshipped and respected by millions. His stories are moralistic and logistic. There are lots of stories about his creation and his belief with his celestial parents Shiva and Parvati. The dance drama also includes an episode, which proves the truth, arrogance is hurtful. A colorful choreography by Guru Prasanna Kasthuri in narrating the story.
Performance 3 - Bahulya - 3:00 PM - 10/11/2009 Prasanna Kasthuri will be presenting Bharathanatyam performance with compositions from 8 major languages of World. Through them he will be presenting various phases of life. The performance focuses on the pure Bharathanatyam technique and presents Hindu mythological figures such as Rama, Seeta; ordinary social people such as a boatman and a bangle man; abstracts such as Nature; and a romantic verse from 12th century. The composers vary from Amir Khusro to all the way to Shakespeare. It will be a great story telling and a beautiful dancing from an experienced performer.
