Jeanne Stark, Pianist
In the first half of her concert, Jeanne addresses our drought as she calls forth pieces all about water: Ravel - Jeux d'eau; Debussy - Gardens in the Rain, Reflections in the Water, The Sunken Cathedral. In the second half she shares with us one of Beethoven's most well-known sonatas, Sonata No. 30 in E Major, Op. 109, the first of his 3 latest piano sonatas. Jeanne Stark is regarded with the highest esteem for her superb musicianship and deeply spiritual interpretations of classical music's most challenging repertoire for the piano. Le Parisien said, "Each note is a jewel chiseled with perfect mastery and emotion." Her artistry has earned her the praise of some of the great musical masters of our time, including composers Darius Milhaud, Olivier Messiaen and Lou Harrison.
