Water, Floods and the Sacred Wound
Mythteller Brian Rohr and the Sacred Storytelling Series Presents:

Water, Floods and the Sacred Wound:
An evening of flood stories from around the world

More information at: brianrohr.com/water-floods-and-the-sacred-wound/

Cultures all over the world recognize the power of water and tell of great floods of long ago that cleansed the world.  At this time of the year the mountain snows melt and the waters journey, sometimes bringing great floods as they go about filling the rivers and ocean anew. These waters nourish the earth and our psyches. Mythteller Brian Rohr presents an evening of performative storytelling and mythology that will explore the archetypal and mythical water and flood stories from around the world, breathing them to life in the realm of the oral tradition.

Rohr invites us to follow the ageless wisdom inherent in the old stories, with powerful drumming and ritual to help us journey to a place where we ourselves live, breathe and dance among the ancient tales.

Please note that these tellings tend towards teen and adult audiences as we explore the complexities, paradoxes and medicine inherent in the old myths and folktales.  Some mature themes, ideas and language may be present.

About the Sacred Storytelling Series:

Storytelling is an ancient and sacred act that cultures around the world have been doing for hundreds and thousands of years.  In this time of rapid technology and quick sound bites, it is more important than ever to come together as a community to hear the wisdom that the old stories have to share.

Each month, from August to December, Mythteller Brian Rohr will bring forward a sacred storytelling performance utilizing the drum and the spoken word.  Each performance in this series will have a different theme:

Aug 21  Water, Floods and the Sacred Wound

Sept 19  Jewish Wisdom

Oct 23  Trickster Stories

Nov 21  Surrendering in Gratitude

Dec 19  Honoring the Dark, Waking the Light
