Storytelling For Everyone: Daylong Storytelling Intensive and Performance
Personal narrative has exploded over the last several years, with new shows, slams, and podcasts surfacing daily. People from all walks of life are taking the stage to share their own stories in front of packed houses across Chicago and the U.S. If you haven't participated yet, it's time to get in on the fun.
This intensive is ideal for those who have been unable to make room in their schedules for the four-week course. Additionally, if you have already taken the course, the intensive would be a great way to refresh your memory, reinvigorate your craft, and workshop a new story into a first performance.
The sessions will cover everything from story generation to the finer details of performance. There will also be ample time to workshop a story and receive feedback from other participants and the instructor.
The day will culminate in a student performance, open to the public, at Mrs. Murphy & Sons, home of acclaimed monthly storytelling series This Much Is True.
Intensive size will be kept to 10 to insure that participants receive maximum individual attention and stage time.
The Schedule Session One: 10:30am-1:30pm *Lunch Break: 1:30-2:30pm Session Two: 2:30-5:30pm *Dinner Break: 5:30-7:00pm Student Show: 7pm
