Michael Bischoff
Pei Cobb Freed & Partners
Partner
As an architect with Pei Cobb Freed & Partners since 1992, Michael Bischoff has contributed significantly to the firm as a lead designer and project architect in a wide array of projects, including those for educational institutions, public and private corporations and commercial developers. In January of 2009, Mr. Bischoff joined the partnership of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners as a design partner.

His experience in the development of lasting and meaningful environments within a campus setting is complemented by an equal commitment to the creation of the corporate and commercial workplace as seen in his key role in the realization of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City (2008), The Capital Group Companies, Orange County Campus, Irvine, California (2007); and 2099 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D.C. (2001).  An appreciation of the social and technological impact of sustainable design remains central to his thinking in a work of architecture.
Mr. Bischoff began his professional career working in the San Francisco office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. He then spent two years in the studio of José Rafael Moneo Arquitecto, Madrid. In addition to his professional practice, Mr. Bischoff has maintained an active role within the academic community, contributing as a design critic at both Harvard and Princeton universities, and Parsons School of Design in New York.

Mr. Bischoff received his master's degree in Architecture from Harvard University in 1988, where he was awarded the American Institute of Architects Certificate of Merit upon graduation. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1984.
