What are you willing to risk your life for? For 46 volunteers on two ships determined to shut down an illegal whaling fleet in Antarctic waters, the consequences are very real. At The Edge Of The World puts you in the middle of the action as the international crew unleashes an arsenal of bizarre and brilliant tactics in this uniquely beautiful and deadly corner of the world. With one ship unable to chase down the whaling fleet, with their second ship unsafe in Antarctic ice conditions and with no country willing to support their efforts, the situation becomes increasingly desperate but against all odds, a once-in-a-lifetime David vs Goliath adventure unfolds. Long Island filmmaker Dan Stone felt strongly about his reason for making this film. He was inspired to get involved in the environmental movement when he saw a photograph of a seal slaughter . I couldnt believe it was still going on. he said. He admired the young people taking this journey. There is something very special about ordinary people willing to take extraordinary chances, the willingness of these volunteers to risk their lives for something greater than themselves is a definition of true heroism. If you want to stop this tragedy, you have to make people aware of it. Making a film about this is great because on a big screen, its just an amazing shared experience. You can hopefully reach people deeply. You have a chance to take people on a journey.
