Food, Inc.
FOOD, INC. lifts the veil on our nation's food industry, exposing the underbelly that's been hidden with the consent of regulatory agencies (the USDA and FDA). The film portrays a food supply controlled by a handful of corporations that often put profit ahead of public health, worker safety, farmers' livelihood and the environment.
10/17 SCREENING ONLY: After the film, stay for a panel discussion featuring Joan Gussow (Rockland's renowned gardener and nutrition/whole food expert), the Rockland Farm Alliance, and other local advocates and farmers. Gussow is author of 'This Organic Life,' Professor Emeritus and former Chair of the Nutrition Education Program at Columbia University Teachers College, and former member of the FDA's Food Advisory Committee and the National Organic Standards Board.
