Art Lillard Quartet
Fri, 8/15: Art Lillard Quartet - Drummer/composer Art Lillard has been leading bands in New York City for decades. Originally from Miami, Lillard played with Ira Sullivan, then attended Berklee College of Music. Lillard then quickly established himself in NYC as a serious Jazz drummer, composer and band leader. His Heavenly Big Band was formed in 1987, and can be heard on the Summit record label. He's one of the hardest swinging, most musical drummers you will ever hear. He will be joined by saxophonist David Valdez, who played in Lillard's band in NYC. Also joining Lillard will be Weber Iago-piano and Chris Higgins-bass. This group will be SMOKIN'! 8pm - $10.
