Bach's Herd of Harpsichords V: Double Play
The fifth installment in our most popular concert series features concertos for two harpsichords with orchestra composed by Vivaldi, J.S. Bach and his sons.
The concert features harpsichordists Keith Womer (director of La Follia), JiMin Kim, and Jeffrey Jones-Ragona, accompanied by the La Follia ensemble.
Among the musical highlights are a concerto for two harpsichords and orchestra based on a Vivaldi concerto for two violins and strings, arranged by Jeffrey Jones-Ragona, and a concerto for 3 harpsichords and strings by Johann Sebastian Bach (only one of two in existence, both composed by J.S. Bach).
Program:
Johann Christian Bach Duetto for two harpsichords, Op. 15, no. 5
Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Sinfonia for two harpsichords and orchestra in B flat, Wq. 110
Antonio Vivaldi, arr. Jeffrey Jones-Ragona Concerto for two harpsichords and strings, after Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto for two violins, strings, and continuo RV. 522
