Eric Peterson - "Undiagnosed Bipolar With A Vodka Buzz"
After meandering around the midwest, east coast and Chicago, Eric Peterson moved to San Francisco in the very early years of this century. He began studying Acting, Improv and the Comic Monologue at the University of California-Berkeley.
In 2003, he started San Francisco¹s legendary Uptown Comedy Open Mike. ³Of all the open mikes I went to, I liked The Uptown the best. Eric does a great job there.² - Tommy Craggs, SF Weekly.
He then began hosting the ³Friday Night Comedy² pro showcase at the San Francisco Comedy Club, called "The home of underground comedy in San Francisco" by the SF Chronicle. In 2004, he wrote and performed with The Hedgehog Demolition Players sketch comedy troupe. The troupe was originally formed in Prague by ex-pats with new members added in San Francisco.
In 2005, he left California and performed in the US, Canada, Thailand and Japan. While performing at The Comedy Store in Tokyo, he lost his notebook with most of his material from the last several years. Remarkably, the notebook was found on the street by the Asia Editor of The London Times and nobly returned. Rumor has it this editor now has a sense of humor.
In 2006 he was invited to again host Fridays at The SF Comedy Club. Eric is glad to be back in San Franfreako hosting Fridays and performing elsewhere on other nights. Eric has worked with many of the top names in comedy, including Robin Williams, Will Durst, Bill Santiago, Will Franken, Rene Hicks, Jasper Redd, Larry Reeb, Mark Gross, Johnny Steele, Blair Butler, Joey Guila, and Jimmy Gunn...and many other funny folks.
See his "Undiagnosed Bipolar With A Vodka Buzz" solo show October 22, 2006 as part of the "Original Voices" series at The Off-Market Theatre.
