DIY Screenprinting September 19
In part one of this class, the focus will be on making reusable, good quality screens used for making paper or textile prints. The screens made in this class are 10"x12" which are a perfect size for zine and book covers! Supplies include, stretcher bars, professional quality mesh, degreaser, duct tape and staple guns.
In the second part of the day, the focus will be on printing a hand cut stencil image using the screen that was just built in the previous workshop. Stencils will be made using sticker paper and exacto knives and will be printed through the screen. You will need to bring a high contrast B&W image (no larger than 8x10) in which to make a stencil from as well as your own materials to print on, either paper or fabric. Ink will be provided.
