Tony Lucca, Jay Nash, and Matt Duke
Tony Lucca
By the sounds of Tony Lucca's somber, blues-rock tunes, you'd think he'd have friends only in like-minded songwriters. It turns out, he has friends in Hollywood. His songs have appeared in numerous tv shows and movies and Lucca won the Los Angeles music award for best male singer/songwriter. Starting out in bands as early as the tender age of 10, he now has five albums under his belt. If that's not impressive enough, he recorded and produced them himself. His crafting of contemporary blues and soul is both fastidious and genuine; lovelorn lyrics are as expertly stitched together as are his guitar chords and melodies.

Jay Nash
It's hard to say what or who is Nash's muse. It could be the California sunsets, a relationship that ended in heartbreak for the both of them, or the uncertainties life presents all of us. One thing's for certain, he's got the gravely voice and steady acoustic strums to complement the most self-reflective of moments. With several albums and a veritable wishing well of California-washed inspirations, the likelihood of Nash's longevity is certain. At the upcoming Ventura Hillsides Music Festival, Nash will hold his own with the likes of Keb' Mo' and The Neville Brothers.

Matt Duke
Matt Duke, with all his sparse acoustic guitar plucks and sensitive lyrics, has a sense of humor with songs like "Sex and Reruns" and "I've got Atrophy on the Brain." Influenced by literature, The Kingdom Underground Acoustic EP is smart and imaginative and also a stripped down version of his rocking Kingdom Underground album. He credits much of his fan-base to MySpace and with that support he's found a wider audience than the local coffee shop.
