Kris Delmhorst
Kris Delmhorst grew up in Brooklyn NY, but her musical home is in Boston MA where she cut her teeth on open mics, bar gigs, and subway busking before embarking on her life as an internationally touring songwriter. Her new album, Blood Test, her first of original music since 2008, is her seventh on the respected indie label Signature Sounds. Delmhorst now lives in the hills of western Massachusetts with her husband, songwriter Jeffrey Foucault, with whom she occasionally performs as part of the collective Redbird. The L.A Times calls her music "moody, euphoric, and transcendent" while the Boston Globe says "bold and brilliant." She has also recorded vocals, fiddle and cello on over 50 albums from such artists as Peter Wolk, Mary Gauthier, and Chris Smither.
