An Evening in Bohemia: Fundraiser for Virago Theatre Company
Join Virago Theatre Company for our first public fundraiser. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in silent and live auctions while enjoying good food and live music, including musical excerpts from our ambitious production of Puccinis La Bohme, the inspiration for the musical RENT and one of the most popular operas of all time. La Bohme will be staged at the elegant Rhythmix Cultural Works in March/April 2010 where Virago staged Candide in 2008. Proceeds from the evening will benefit Virago Theatre Companys efforts to bring edgy, provocative theatre to Alameda and the East Bay Area.
Auction items include weekend accommodations in Morro Bay, accommodations at Pescadero Creek Inn, passes and private tour at the Legion of Honor, dinner and tickets to Berkeley Repertory Theatre and tickets to Aurora Theatre Company, plus much much more.
Alamedas own Matt Smith, owner of Blacksmith Cellars and wine maker for Rock Wall Winery, will be on-hand to help launch Cera Una Voltas new house wines, a white and a red wine custom-blended by Matt. Be one of the first to try them!
