Where the Wild Things Are pre-release screening
826MICHIGAN presents a special preview screening of Where The Wild Things Are. The event, a benefit for 826michigan, will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at 6:45pm at Ann Arbor's Michigan Theater.
Based on the beloved book by Maurice Sendak, Where the Wild Things Are is an adventure for every generation, a classic story about childhood and the places we go to figure out our world.
Dave Eggers, author and 826 founder,penned the screenplay for this highly anticipated motion picture. He will be present for an audience Q&A session at the screening, and a post-film VIP reception at Grange Kitchen & Bar, 118 W. Liberty Street.
Co-written and directed by Spike Jonze and staring Catherine Keener, Max Records, Mark Ruffalo, Lauren Ambrose, Chris Cooper, James Gandolfini, Catherine O'Hara and Forest Whitaker, the film's official release date is October 16, 2009.
826michigan is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Our services are structured around our belief that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success.
Proceeds benefit 826michigan's free literacy and writing programs for students in Southeast Michigan.
