Comedy Returns to El Rio!
"Comedy Returns to El Rio!" where comedian/Kung Pao Kosher Comedy Producer got her comedic start 20 years ago.
This diverse line-up showcases some of San Francisco's funniest and smartest stand up comics and takes place every 2nd Monday of the month at 7:30pm.
The Monday, September 14th show features the comedy of:
DIANE AMOS is a local actress and comedian who, for the past 15 years, has been The Pine Sol Lady in their national commercials. She has appeared in the films Nine Months, Copycat, Angels in the Outfield, EDTV, and Twisted with Samuel Jackson and Ashley Judd. Diane was a semi-finalist in Star Search; was on A& E's Evening at The Improv, Lifetime's Girls' Night Out, and Comedy Central's Women Aloud; and was a winner on Wheel of Fortune, $25,000 Pyramid, and Super Password. Shes in her third year of a national speaking tour on sisterhood.
DAVID HAWKINS' manic style mixes pop culture fanaticism with punk rock cynicism into a style both nerdy and naughty. He has performed at the Yerba Buena Center, the National Queer Arts Festival, and co-hosted the SF LGBT Center's 7th Anniversary. David is currently working on his first one man show "Desperate (But Not Serious)" which he hopes to premiere in the spring.
RAY FERRER is a Bay Area-based humorist and drag performer who has presented his work along the East Coast and in Puerto Rico. Locally, Ray has performed at QComedy, Writers with Drinks, The Castro Street Fair, Funny Girlz, and various other sundry comedy/spoken word venues. Ray's comedy looks at how hilarious it is to be Cuban, Irish and queer.
BRENDAN LYNCH has established himself as a comedian to look out for in the Bay Area. He's had college crowds clamoring for extensions, and his performances at bars and clubs all over California have left patrons drooling in their drink minimums. Don't by deceived by Brendan's low-key manner. Prepare yourself for an outrageous slice outside the cookie cutter of life. Brendan's astute observational comedy will surprise you with its bold sarcasm and absurd twists.
DANA CORY is third generation show business and has the therapy bills to prove it. She has performed and produced stand-up comedy and improv for over a decade and currently hosts the radio show "Funny That Way" on www.EnergyTalkRadio.com. Dana is easily stalked on Facebook.
