Movie Screening: Watershed
Join us in the Grange after dark for a special film screening during watershed month at SHED. Like our own local watershed, the Colorado River faces dire challenges, and the documentary Watershed tells the story of the threats to the once-mighty river and offers solutions for the future of the American West.
As the most dammed, dibbed, and diverted river in the world, the Colorado River struggles to support thirty million people. The film explores its struggle to meet the needs of a growing population in the face of rising temperatures and low rainfall and its search for harmony amongst the competing interests of cities, agriculture, industry, recreation, wildlife, and indigenous communities with rights to the water.
The film was executive produced and narrated by Robert Redford and directed by award-winning filmmaker Mark Decena, who will join us after the screening for a Q&A.
