Paradise Lot: Growing an Edible Garden Oasis with Author Jonathan Bates
Jonathan Bates, owner of Food Forest Farm, and contributing author of "Paradise Lot: Two Plant Geeks, One-Tenth of an Acre, and the Making of an Edible Garden Oasis in the City", will show you how he transformed a blighted urban yard into an edible paradise. By using permaculture design he's created both beauty and abundance, meeting human needs while improving ecosystem health.
Author Bio: Author Jonathan Bates has been learning, thinking and teaching ecologically for more than two decades. He has created dozens of thriving farms and gardens in the Connecticut River Valley. He founded and is a board member of the Apios Institute, a collaborative network of farmers, gardeners, and researchers focused on integrated perennial-crop agroecosystems. Jonathan is also a teacher at the Yestermorrow Design/Build School in Warren, VT, and farms and teaches permaculture in a number of communities throughout the East. Jonathan loves sharing his passion for life with friends and family, and working with folks to better the world we live in.
$5 - $25 sliding scale suggested to help cover Jonathan's travel expenses. No one turned away for lack of funds.
