Benefit for the Byrd Theatre - One-Man Family Circus at the BYRD: Juggling Extravaganza!!!
WHAT and WHEN:
On August 24, international juggling comedy action hero and official
Jester of Muncaster Castle, Paolo Garbanzo, brings his worldwide entertainment skills to the historic Byrd Theatre in Richmond, VA, for an evening of all-ages hilarity to benefit the Byrd Foundation. Part of the Byrd's Journey to the Seats restoration campaign, this show will captivate all comers with astounding circus skills, extraordinary juggling, and extremely smart comedy. Expect the unexpected; Paolo describes this show as an adventure in "Defying Death and Darwinism"!
About Paolo & the Byrd:
Paolo Garbanzo (aka Paul Hudert) is a native Richmonder of Italian and German heritage and graduate of VCU who travels the world performing his comedy and juggling shows in three languages. After ten years of continual touring, he has come back to raise a family in Richmond with his wife, Madame Onça.
There's no other venue like it, and since 1928, it has been a jewel of Italian Renaissance Revival architecture in Richmond's crown, and a bastion of the arts.
The theatre occupied a special place in his childhood, and, as Paolo says, "The Byrd has done so much to nurture unique film AND live arts experiences here in our city, and it's good to be able to give back. And, it's a great venue for a one man show like this, intimate and yet opulent. Come enjoy a grand show for a grand cause!"
