Summer in the City: Santa Monica
Summer in the City is a new series introducing APA LA's members to the latest innovative, proactive planning in cities around the Los Angeles region. Between June and September, we'll visit several cities whose staff will lead tours, site visits, and presentations that showcase their planning and community development efforts.
On August 21, the third in the series will take us to Santa Monica. We'll explore downtown Santa Monica's return to a transit terminus and the projects transforming the area into a multi-modal hub. We will then stroll to award-winning Tongva Park and continue conversation at an ocean view bar for drinks and snacks, ending the evening on Santa Monica Pier for a free Twilight Concert with The Zombies.
$12 cost includes happy hour with appetizers and the first drink on us!
-Bring warm clothing for the Pier at night
-Those who are able are encouraged to ride bikes or take the Big Blue Bus. Secure bike storage will be provided.
