Dramatic Twerp: A theatrical one man show with tales about coming out in the 1980s.
What if you had to "hold your tongue" and not say what you felt for ten years, twenty years? What if you lived your life in a constant self editing mode? Whatever your "closet" is, in your life; you probably figured out a way to operate within those tight confines, to some success. In Sean Ewert's solo exploration into high school in the 1980s without the internet, cell phones or a gay social club on campus; he borrows from the dramatic interpretation model and the National Forensic League to create a queer memory journey. It is indeed easier and safer to perform in someone else's story or text - at some point you must stop editing your life, blow open your closet and speak your own words.
