Brown Sugar Kitchen and City Slicker Farms Keeping It Real Dinner
Sunday, August 23, Brown Sugar Kitchen and City Slicker Farms together host Keeping It Real Dinners in conjunction with the Eat Real Festival. http://www.eatrealfest.com/keepingitrealdinners.
Two dinner seatings will take place--at 530p and 730p at Brown Sugar Kitchen in West Oakland. Each dinner will include a five-course tasting of the seasonal flavors of the South and the Caribbean prepared by local chef Tanya Holland and featuring fresh herbs and produce from City Slicker Farms. Fourth Course Tamarind Glazed Oxtails with Smoked Yams and Summer Beans (Vegan Option is Smoked Yams with Summer Beans and Wheat Berry Pilaf)
Fifth Course Stone Fruit and Berry Cobbler with Whipped Cream (Vegan Option is Fresh Fruit)
Proceeds from the dinner will benefit City Slicker Farms, and 30% of your contribution will be tax-deductible. The mission of City Slicker Farms is to advance food security through the creation of organic, sustainable, high-yield urban farms and backyard gardens.
