NEW WORKS NIGHT-"The Theft of the Vol du Messager"
NOTE: Once online sales are closed, a minimum of 20 tickets will be available at the box office one hour before show time.
Mountain Community Theater is proud to present a workshop production of this exciting new play by local playwrights Alie Mac and Nat A. Robinson.
Both plans were flawless: break in to the museum, steal the masterpiece and let someone else take the fall. The only thing these master thieves didn't see coming was each other.
The traveling masterpiece, the "Vol du Messager," measures only 7.5" tall, but its tiny size comes with a price tag of over a half million. Two thieves, a small-time cat burglar, Jane Kestrel, has only one shot at getting enough money together to send her talented little sister, Dee, to a prestigious art college. While the witty and charismatic Fox, a career criminal, is looking for 'one last score' to finish on a high note with the help of his tech-genius sidekick, Sheldon. In one twisting, turning cliffhanger after another the teams will have to race to the finish to see who is the better thieving duo, leaving one to cash in a hefty paycheck and the other to take the fall. The "Vol du Messager" may be a small painting in stature but what's at stake is much bigger than these thieves could have imagined.
Don't miss the chance to be one of the first to experience this theatrical endeavor.
