Join TEATRO DE FACTO for a sneak peek at the development process with one of Americas hottest playwrights! TdF brings HEIDI SCHRECK to Los Angeles for a week long workshop of her new play CREATURE, culminating with two EXCLUSIVE PRESENTATIONS on AUGUST 23 and 24 at 7pm. Seating is limited.
CREATURE follows fascinating, frustrating MARGERY KEMPE on her hilarious and provocative journey to try to become a saint. Set in 1400, but written with a decidedly contemporary tone and themes, the play explores the ideas of Heaven and Hell and how they affect our daily lives. Using a beautiful, sexually empowered woman, her beer-maker husband, a neophyte priest, and a sarcastic anchoress who perhaps takes the form of a talking hazelnut, Schreck invites the audience on a ride that is at once holy and profane, sensational and mundane, jaw-droppingly funny and profoundly moving.
